Introduction to Creative Writing
Are you an aspiring author? Have a head full of story ideas but do not know how or where to begin? Wish to write a children's book? Have a novel idea? A poet, but only you know it? Lived an exciting life and plan to pen a memoir to share with your progeny? This two-hour creative writing workshop will give novice writers a prelude, and seasoned writers a refresher, to the basic elements of creative writing, including: character, plot, POV, & setting.
Prerequisite for all writing workshops, except Business Writing, 2-hour class, $160

Business and Technical Writing
Business owners and employees who can write clearly, concisely, and creatively have a competitive edge over others who communicate ineffectively. Well-written correspondences are key to the success of any business or organization. In this two-hour workshop students will learn to analyze and produce succinct office documents such as letters, memos, presentations, proposals, and reports, purpose-driven messages that reflect the needs of professional audiences.
2-hour class, $160

Ongoing Workshop
A read and critique group for writers who have a work-in-progress (long or short), whether it be a collection of poems, a novel, play, short story assortment, memoir, screenplay, or a work of creative nonfiction. This workshop is designed to be a place where writers can continue to receive instruction, hone their craft, stay on task, engage in productive discussion, and be inspired by fellow writers. Participants gather weekly in a friendly, supportive environment for the careful reading and critique of selections from their manuscript.
Prerequisite: Intro to Creative Writing, 2-hour class, 2-hour class, $160

Putting finishing touches on your novel, children's book, memoir, stage play? Need to pen the perfect resume or cover letter? One-on-one instruction, ghost-writing, edits, and critiquing are available for those writers seeking individualized assistance, rather than formal instruction.
By Appointment.
Sessions are conducted in person, by phone, Skype, or email.
$80 per hour

Admission and Scholarship, Graduate and Undergraduate Essays
Private and group* tutoring for college-bound and graduate school students working on admissions and scholarship narrative essays. I work as a creative editor and writing coach, assisting students in their quest to find a compelling topic, and then helping them structure, compose, revise and polish their essay. However, I do not ghostwrite student essays.
500 word essay packages begin at $500 and include:
* 30 minute brainstorming session
* 50 minute first draft conference
* Up to three edits/revisions
Sessions are conducted in person, by phone, Skype, or email.
*Groups of 2 or more in-person only. Groups must attend same brainstorming session, and first draft conference (110 minutes). Groups receive 10% discount. 4 student maximum.
